Sunday April 14th Wagenborg again assisted an inbound LNG carrier safely to berth in Eemshaven. For towing the SM Albatross, the Wagenborg tugs Waterlines, Waterland, Waterstraat and Waterstroom were put in action.
Recently, the engine installation of the 47-year old inland pusher tug ‘GYAS’ has been completely renewed. The old two-stroke diesel engine has been replaced by a Volvo D13-400 main engine. By investing in this new Stage V engine, the GYAS is ready for many more years of loyal service.
The year 2023 was one of solid performances for Wagenborg and for all business segments. As we move into 2024 and are confident to continue this positive vibe, here is a look back on some stories that moved our company last year.
Recently, the ASD tug Waterstraat has been taken into service again after her third special survey. During a period of maintenance, the 60 ton bollard pull tug boat received a variety of maintenance works and updates on the hull, machinery, equipment and systems. These investments guarantee at least five more years of reliable towing services for our customers.
On Thursday, August 3, around 2:30 p.m., the Fremantle Highway arrived safely in Julianahaven in Eemshaven with the assistance of several Wagenborg tugboats, among others. The process went according to plan. Now that the ship is moored at the Wagenborg terminal, the next steps will be determined. This will be discussed by the parties involved in the following days.
Wagenborg has purchased an ASD 3280 Tug, which will be available shortly. With this new tug, Wagenborg further strengthens its position in the towage market in Northwest Europe.
By combining various in-house logistic services and equipment, Wagenborg can be considered a one-stop shop for a custom logistic solution. Recently, Wagenborg Towage and Wagenborg Nedlift joined forces when loading a skid in Farmsum, the Netherlands, destined for the Middle East.
Wagenborg Towage is proud to announce Jan De Nul Group has chosen our offshore project support for transporting 107 monopile foundations for Gode Wind 3 and Borkum Riffgrund 3 offshore wind farms to Eemshaven. Assisted by the tug ‘WATERLINES’, the first transports arrived in Eemshaven under agency of Wagenborg.
